About the Farm
Bill Lelekacs bought the property where Dancing Pines Farm resides in the mid-1990s and started growing produce as soon as possible. He also rebuilt an old barn on the property that serves as the primary farm storage area. The original garden site was about 3/4 acre and over the years has been expanded to approximately 2 acres.
We now have three hoop houses on the farm. These are passive greenhouses that allow us to extend our growing season, with a winter focus on lettuce and other greens, including spinach and arugula.
We have one part-time farm assistant. Maggie Newman aspires to have her own farm in the future. In the meantime, she is learning at Dancing Pines Farm, helping with many aspects of production on the farm, and bringing new ideas to improve the farm business.
Our future objectives are to continue building healthy, productive soils and to be good stewards of this land as long as we can. We strongly believe that healthy soils grow healthy and nutritious produce.
