The Farm's Story
Bill bought the property where Dancing Pines Farm resides in the mid-1990s and started growing produce as soon as possible. He also rebuilt an old barn on the property that serves as the primary farm storage area. Bill started the farm on about 3/4 acre with one small irrigation pond.
In 2004, Bill met Joanna. They were married about one year later. They both participate in all aspects of the farm, with Bill remaining the primary farmer. Joanna currently markets the farm's produce at Chapel Hill Farmers' Market.
In 2007, the growing area was expanded by an additional acre and an another irrigation pond was constructed. We have also focused the last few years on planting fruit trees and berry bushes in groupings around the vegetable gardens.

Crops in hoop house ~ spring 2009
In the spring of 2008, the first hoop house was raised on the farm. A second hoop house followed in the spring of 2009. These allow us to extend our growing season, with a winter focus on Red Leaf and Romaine Lettuce.
Our future objectives are to continue building healthy, productive soils and to be good stewards to this land as long as we can. We strongly believe that healthy soils grow healthy and nutritious produce.
